Recycling Safety
The waste industry is indicating it is operating at nearly full capacity and is still able to provide regular collection for garbage and recyclables. One service that has been impacted throughout Lake County is the collection of bulky items or large items left outside of the garbage container, which will no longer be collected unless the material is placed in a rigid container or plastic bag. The waste industry has told us they made this decision based on the safety of its drivers. For specific information on the status of bulky item collection in your community please check the SWALCO Neighborhood Program Community Website (Green Oaks)
YES – Metal, Paper, Glass, Plastic & Cartons
NO – Plastic Bags, Big Items, Tanglers, Clothing, Food, Liquids, Diapers, Batteries, Needles, Shredded Paper
