Green Oaks Memorial Garden

On Tuesday, September 19, 2023 the Village of Green Oaks held a Ground Breaking Ceremony for their Memorial Garden, located directly across from Village Hall on the Northeast corner of Buckley and O’Plaine Road in Green Oaks.  A big thanks goes out to Village Landscape Architect Brad Detloff, Village Planner Jeramiah Yeksavich of Manhardt Consulting, Village Engineer Ben Metzler of Clark Dietz and Contractor A. Jules Construction, LLC who will bring this empty corner alive!

Kicking off this project as a tribute honoring the past and present residents and veterans of our hometown, the Village Green Oaks.

We all come from different doors to make a family, and that’s what we are here in Green Oaks, a family.  We are blessed to have and have had that special someone, a neighbor, teacher, friend, a community member in our hometown who play a big role in making us who we are.  We simply want to honor our hometown and those special people who have been a part of the fabric of the Village of Green Oaks.

These are the bonds that unify us. We believe the stories from our Green Oaks Family, serve as a reminder that more connects us than divides us and leads to our ultimate goal of making Green Oaks the best, most unforgettable, amazing town it can be.

Some people judge towns by their population.  Others judge them by amenities such as parks and playgrounds.  Many consider school systems and tax policies.  Some even judge towns by the quality and longevity of their small independent diners and cafés.  Here in Green Oaks we have all that and more.  Green Oaks is a very special place to live, work, raise a family and find those relationships that last a lifetime.

So, to any of us who are too busy that we think we can’t go back to our hometowns, that’s precisely the time that one finds the need to go back home.  There’s usually unconditional love, healing and restoration waiting there that reminds us who we are.
