2012 GREEN OAKS FARMER’S MARKET
Greetings from the
Village of
Green Oaks! We would like to introduce ourselves and extend an invitation to participate in the first Green Oaks Farmer’s Market. The
Village of
Green Oaks is a small and proud community approximately 30 miles north of O’Hare International Airport in
Chicago,
Illinois. We are located southwest of
Waukegan north of Mettawa and east of
Libertyville. Our community is rich in tradition that affords the pleasantries of quite country living, excellent schools, access to major highways and tollways, single family homes on large lots, all complimented by our growing commercial and retail business district.
The Village plans on hosting this event at Lambs Farm, located in Green Oaks at the intersection of I-94 and IL Route 176. Lambs desirable location, coupled with their humbling mission to serve those with developmental disabilities, is not only visible from the highway but is in the center of local traffic routes that are traveled by hundreds of people who work for such companies as Office Concepts, Abbott Labs, Baxter, CDW, Grainger and Motorola, not to mention local residents and affluent surrounding communities.
In addition to its location, Lambs Farm offers awesome amenities such as a pet store and a resale shop, petting farm and a mini train with carousel rides, as well as mini golf and The Lambs Country Inn Restaurant. What a great way for local area shoppers to meet local farmers and buy fresh, flavorful produce plus select specialty items that will allow them to get ready for weekend summer BBQ’s.
We believe this would provide an incredible setting for those farmers who wish to sell their products. Here are some details on the 2012 season; Opening Day will be Friday, June 22nd and the Market will close on Friday, October 5th. The hours of operation are from 1pm until 6pm each Friday.
Should you be interested in participating, please complete and send your contract, insurance information, BOH certificate and payments to the Village of Green Oaks ~ Attn: Denise Kafkis by Thursday, March 1st so that we may have everything ready to go.
