Welcome to the Village of Green Oaks

IBernard Wysocki would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Green Oaks internet site. Hopefully our site will provide you with needed information about the village of Green Oaks. The Village of Green Oaks is a small and proud community approximately 30 miles north of O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. Our community is rich in tradition that affords the pleasantries of quiet country living, excellent schools, access to major highways and tollways, single family home on large lots, all complemented by our growing commercial and retail business district.

If you are just browsing or are looking for specific information, our site has much to offer. I hope you will enjoy the information we have provided. If there is something you wish to find out about our village, you may send specific questions to vilgrnoaks@aol.com for an appropriate reply.

Sincerely,
Bernard Wysocki

Update as of 9/19/2019 at 1:30pm

This week the contractor completed the final layer of paving in the Forest Cove / Forest Lake subdivisions, started the milling process in Reigate Woods, and will complete the majority of the landscaping on Pearson, Crest, Benson, Margate and Hawthorn.

Saddle Hill – All road work has been completed.  Striping of the stop bars is scheduled for Friday, 9/20/2019, weather permitting.  If you have any concerns regarding the work adjacent to your property, please let us know so that they may be addressed.

Greenbrier – All main road work has been completed; punch list items are being scheduled with individual homeowners.  Some brick driveway work will be addressed later in September, when the landscaper comes back to complete the outstanding punch list work.  Striping of the stop bars is scheduled for Friday, 9/20/2019, weather permitting.  If you have any concerns regarding the work adjacent to your property, please let us know so that they may be addressed.

Pearson/Crest/Benson – The majority of the landscaping will be completed today (Thursday). Striping of the stop bars is scheduled for Friday, 9/20/2019, weather permitting.   If you have any concerns regarding the work adjacent to your property, please let us know so that they may be addressed.

Margate/Hawthorn – The majority of the landscaping will be completed today. Striping of the stop bars is scheduled for Friday, 9/20/2019, weather permitting.   Brick and cobble driveways will be completed in the next week or so, as the landscaper has availability.  If you have any concerns regarding the work adjacent to your property, please let us know so that they may be addressed.

Forest Lake/Forest Cove – The contractor completed the surface level of asphalt this week.  Landscaping behind the new curbs will be completed in the next week or so, as the landscaper has availability. Striping of the stop bars is scheduled for Friday, 9/20/2019, weather permitting.  If you have any concerns regarding the work adjacent to your property, please let us know so that they may be addressed.

Reigate Woods – The contractor has completed the milling on Braemore and on Reigate Lane north of Braemore.  The contractor is currently working on the grading, and plans to install the first layer of asphalt (binder) early next week.  Driveways that were impacted by curb replacement work will be addressed at that time.  After the binder is installed in the north areas, the rest of the subdivision will be milled, graded, and then binder installed in those areas.  The surface layer of asphalt will follow throughout the subdivision, starting in the north sections.  If you have any concerns regarding the work adjacent to your property, please let us know so that they may be addressed.

Tantara – The concrete contractor has completed the curb replacement work.  Milling is scheduled for the end of September or early October, weather permitting, after the sections in Reigate are done. Grading and paving will follow as soon as possible.

Hanlon/Guerin – The curb replacement work at the entrance to Creekside has been completed.  Milling on Hanlon and Guerin is scheduled to start in early October, with grading and paving to follow shortly thereafter.  Bump signs have been installed on Guerin Road where the pavement over the culvert just east of Hanlon has settled.   The contractor will patch the pavement in that area as part of the work in this area, with a permanent fix planned for next construction season.

Thank you for your patience during construction & continuing to keep vehicle speeds down through the construction zones for everyone’s safety. Please remember to keep windows closed while work is in progress due to dusty conditions.
