Welcome to the Village of Green Oaks

IBernard Wysocki would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Green Oaks internet site. Hopefully our site will provide you with needed information about the village of Green Oaks. The Village of Green Oaks is a small and proud community approximately 30 miles north of O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. Our community is rich in tradition that affords the pleasantries of quiet country living, excellent schools, access to major highways and tollways, single family home on large lots, all complemented by our growing commercial and retail business district.

If you are just browsing or are looking for specific information, our site has much to offer. I hope you will enjoy the information we have provided. If there is something you wish to find out about our village, you may send specific questions to vilgrnoaks@aol.com for an appropriate reply.

Sincerely,
Bernard Wysocki
Mayor of Green Oaks

  Road Improvement Project

2020 Drainage Improvements - Construction is substantially complete as of today – all project components have been completed, and we are waiting for germination of the seed.  If you have any issues with the work adjacent to your property, please contact the Village Hall Monday though Friday from 9am to 2pm at 847-362-5363

2020 Road Improvements Project - The contractor will be finishing shoulder excavation Saturday, June 20th.   Pulverization is scheduled to start in Equestrian Oaks on Wednesday, June 24.  Work in Saddle Hill II and Banbury will follow directly thereafter, with pulverization wrapping up on Friday, June 26.  After pulverization, the contractor will grade and shape the road way and address deficiencies in the aggregate base.  The first asphalt lift will be placed the week of June 29th in Equestrian Oaks and Saddle Hill.  If you are in the process of replacing your driveway culvert and/or are still deciding, we are approaching the end of the window for that work to be completed before the final surface lift.  There will be a delay between the first asphalt lift and final surface course of a couple weeks, so there is still time to permit and install a new culvert.

SWALCO Update: Residential Waste Collection Services

The waste industry is indicating it is operating at nearly full capacity and is still able to provide regular collection for garbage and recyclables. One service that has been impacted throughout Lake County is the collection of bulky items or large items left outside of the garbage container, which will no longer be collected unless the material is placed in a rigid container or plastic bag.  The waste industry has told us they made this decision based on the safety of its drivers.  For specific information on the status of bulky item collection in your community please check the SWALCO Neighborhood Program Community Website (Green Oaks)

COVID-19 and Recycling Safety

As we all stay home during the COVID-19 crisis, recycling sorting facilities staff are maintaining their normal work schedules to provide ongoing recycling services. Recycling workers need our help!
